OPEN CALL AUDITIONS ARE SATURDAY AUGUST 6!!
Here at Epiphany, we believe that art should illuminate a glimpse of something beyond ourselves – something sacred. We work hard and share our gifts with those around us in order to bring hope, passion, healing, and joy into people’s lives through the universal language we call DanceArt.
Open Call Auditions are SATURDAY, Autust 6th from 12-5pm at the Epiphany DanceArts Studios in Dallas.
Here’s what the audition day will look like:
12-1pm Check-In, Headshots, Self Warm up (note that we will not be warming you up for the audition). Please wear a black shirt or leotard for the headshots.
1-5pm Audition
Round 1: Ballet Technique
Round 2: Jazz/Modern Technique and Choreography
Round 3: Epiphany DanceArts Movement

WHERE IS THE AUDITION?
THE EPIPHANY DANCEARTS STUDIOS

HOW DO I GET THERE AND WHERE DO I PARK?
The Mix has a parking lot just off of Diceman near the entry.
Please Note: If there are no spots available in this lot, there is a parking lot directly across Oldgate. You are welcome to park there.
The dance studio is inside the Mix on the first floor of the old United Methodist Church.
Walk down the exterior stairs to enter the building.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Please wear dance and/or athletic clothing that is professional and makes you feel beautiful. You will need Ballet slippers and foot paws. Also a pair of character shoes for one segment of the audition. If you have dance en pointe, you may bring your pointe shoes.
Your headshots will be taken at the audition when you check-in. Wear whatever colors you want for the auditions, but we are asking that you wear a black leotard or shirt when you arrive for the photos.
WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for adult contemporary dancers who have clean balletic lines and passionate performing skills. Also, we are accepting up to 5 teenage dancers for our TrainingArtist Program.
WHAT ARE THE REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE COMMITMENTS?
Rehearsal varies depending on the level you are accepted in to.
Signature DanceArtists rehearse Tuesday & Thursdays from 10 to 1:30; every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 1 to 6.
Performing and Emerging Artists Rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday evenings 6:30 to 9:15; every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 1 to 6.
Trainees will have a custom schedule to fit around their commitments to their home studio.
All rehearsals will be held at the Diceman location.
WHEN DOES YOUR SEASON START/END?
The first rehearsal of season 7 will be on Saturday, August 13th. Continuing every 2nd and 4th Saturday along with 2 weekly rehearsal times. The Epiphany Season lasts through May 2017.
Season Seven runs from August 6, 2016 and runs until May 30, 2017.
WHAT ARE THE LEVELS OF EPIPHANY THAT I’M AUDITIONING FOR?
There are four levels that Epiphany DanceArtists are placed in every year. Here is some general information about each level.
Signature: up to 7 Dancers will be accepted into this level
Our highest quality Adult dancers in technical and performance ability.
Soloist with top priority in casting.
These dancers perform in all major productions and appearances. Dancers in this level are required to take company class, attend rehearsal, and perform in our planned shows and appearances.
Performing: up to 7 Dancers will be accepted into this level
Our highest quality Adult dancers in technical and performance ability.
These dancers perform in all major productions and appearances. Dancers in this level are required to take company class, attend rehearsal, and give our planned shows and appearances top priority.
Emerging: up to 5 Dancers will be accepted into this level
Adult Dancers with potential and drive. These dancers are talented but in need of more training and experience. They will be considered for performances. Dancers will be required to take company class and will be charged a small fee for participation.
TrainingArtist: up to 10 Dancers Total
Juniors and seniors in High School that show promise to become an Epiphany DanceArtist. These dancers will be asked to understudy works and help with outreach. Performance opportunities in our major shows are a possibility but not guaranteed. Dancers will be charged a small fee for participation.
WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED?
Audition Results will be emailed out no later than Wednesday, August 10th. Rehearsals will start Saturday, August 13th.
