OPEN CALL AUDITIONS ARE SUNDAY JULY 26!!
Here at Epiphany, we believe that art should illuminate a glimpse of something beyond ourselves – something sacred. We work hard and share our gifts with those around us in order to bring hope, passion, healing, and joy into people’s lives through the universal language we call DanceArt.
Open Call Auditions are Sunday, July 26th from 12-4pm at the Verandah Club in Dallas.
Here’s what the audition day will look like:
12-1pm Check-In, Headshots, Self Warm up (note that we will not be warming you up for the audition). Please wear a black shirt or leotard for the headshots.
1-4pm Audition
Round 1: Ballet Technique
Round 2: Jazz/Modern Technique and Choreography
Round 3: Epiphany DanceArts Movement

WHERE IS THE AUDITION?

HOW DO I GET THERE AND WHERE DO I PARK?
- From I-35E, exit Wycliff Ave
- Turn left on Wycliff Ave
- You will see the Verandah Club Tennis Courts on your left
- Make a u-turn and turn right into the password protected parking next to the tennis courts
- <span style="font-size:14px">Please Note: If there are no spots available in this lot, there is a parking lot directly to the right of the club for overflow. You are welcome to park there.</span>
- YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER A CODE TO GET IN. WE WILL SEND IT AFTER YOU REGISTER.
- The dance studio is inside the club to the right of the tennis courts
- The dance Sudios are next to the tennis courts
- Walk past the tennis courts until you are at the club's main entrance
- You will see the Verandah Club and Spa entrance on your right side
- Enter the club and go to the front desk
- Tell them you are with Epiphany DanceArts and sign in as a guest.
- They will direct you to the dance studios (We are just past the basketball courts)
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Please wear dance and/or athletic clothing that is professional and makes you feel beautiful. You will need Ballet slippers and foot paws.
Your headshots will be taken at the audition when you check-in. Wear whatever colors you want for the auditions, but we are asking that you wear a black leotard or shirt when you arrive for the photos.
WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for adult contemporary dancers who have clean balletic lines and passionate performing skills. Also, we are accepting up to 5-7 teenage dancers for our TrainingArtist Program.
WHAT ARE THE REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE COMMITMENTS?
Rehearsals are on Sundays from 1-6pm in the beautiful VerandahClub studio at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. Epiphany puts on 2-3 major productions per year, makes approximately 5-10 performance appearances at local festivals, churches and events.
WHEN DOES YOUR SEASON START/END?
The first rehearsal of season 6 will be on Sunday, August 16th. We will rehearse on Sundays through the year. Several weekend breaks will be worked in for rest in between shows. The Epiphany Season lasts through May 2106.
Season Six runs from August 16, 2015 and runs until May 29, 2016.
WHAT ARE THE LEVELS OF EPIPHANY THAT I’M AUDITIONING FOR?
There are three levels that Epiphany DanceArtists are placed in every year. Here is some general information about each level.
Performing: about 12 Dancers will be accepted into this level
Our highest quality Adult dancers in technical and performance ability.
These dancers perform in all major productions and appearances. Dancers in this level are required to take company class, attend rehearsal every Sunday, and give our planned shows and appearances top priority.
Emerging: about 5 Dancers will be accepted into this level
Adult Dancers with potential and drive. These dancers are talented but in need of more training and experience. They will be considered for performances. Dancers will be required to take company class and will be charged a small fee for participation.
TrainingArtist: 5-7 Dancers Total
Juniors and seniors in High School that show promise to become an Epiphany DanceArtist. These dancers will be asked to understudy works and help with outreach. Performance opportunities in our major shows are a possibility but not guaranteed. Dancers will be required to take two classes each Sunday and will be charged a small fee for participation.
WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED?
Audition Results will be emailed out no later than Friday, July 31st. Rehearsals will start Sunday, August 16th.
